What is Zurampic?

Zurampic is an FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved medication manufactured by AstraZeneca. It is a URAT1 inhibitor used with a xanthine oxidase inhibitor (XOI) to treat hyperuricemia associated with gout in people who have not obtained target serum uric acid levels with a xanthine oxidase inhibitor alone. Zurampic is not recommended for the treatment of asymptomatic hyperuricemia, and should not be used as monotherapy.

What doses of Zurampic are available?

Zurampic is available in tablet form, in the following doses: 200 mg.

The recommended dose is 200 mg tablets once daily, in the morning with food and water. in combination with a xanthine oxidase inhibitor, including allopurinol or febuxostat. The maximum daily dose of Zurampic is 200 mg.
