Am I eligible for the Remicade patient assistance program?

If you meet the eligibility criteria for the Remicade patient assistance program, we will seek to enroll you on your behalf. This means you could receive your Remicade without paying the full retail price. While we look at every application on its own merits, the main factors considered by most programs are:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
  • I am uninsured or my insurance doesn’t cover my medication
  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for the Remicade patient assistance program?

We work with you to make everything as easy as possible. The first step is to complete our enrollment application. We will need to know about any medications you’re taking, including Remicade. We’ll also ask for details about your healthcare provider, insurance, and your income.

Once we have reviewed your initial details, we will determine whether you may be eligible for Remicade assistance. If so, we’ll handle the application process for you, helping to enroll you in the Remicade patient assistance program. Once in the program, we’ll also request your Remicade medication refills on your behalf. This will be done for up to a full year.

Is NiceRx a Remicade coupon provider?

NiceRx is not a Remicade coupons provider. We are a service provider that helps eligible individuals access the Remicade patient assistance program.

Our service consists of assisting you to obtain your medication through the program. It doesn’t mean that we offer Remicade discounts, rebates, free Remicade samples, or Remicade savings cards.

Can NiceRx help me get Remicade if I have insurance?

If your insurance company won’t pay for your Remicade medication, or you have a high copay or coinsurance responsibility, NiceRx may be able to assist. We may even be able to help if you don’t have insurance.

How much is Remicade with insurance?

Remicade prices with insurance will vary depending on the details of your healthcare plan. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist will be able to calculate your copay with your current insurance.

How much is Remicade without insurance?

Without insurance, the price of Remicade will depend on the quantity and dose you buy and where you purchase it from. As a guide, a single vial of 100 mg of Remicade, typically enough for one infusion, will cost around $1,300. With NiceRx you will never pay more than the flat monthly fee of $49.

What is Remicade?

Remicade is a medication used to treat specific autoimmune diseases, and some similar diseases, in adults and children. The medication is given by an intravenous infusion (the powdered drug is mixed into a solution) directly into one of your veins. A physician or a nurse usually does this. How often you need infusions will depend on your condition.

Remicade is prescribed to treat inflammatory autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. The medication can also be used to treat similar inflammatory conditions, like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Your immune system is a collection of processes and substances your body uses to protect itself from infection. Autoimmune diseases are conditions where your immune system targets a normal, healthy part of your own body by mistake, rather than an infection. Different immune diseases affect different parts of your body and they can cause a wide range of symptoms. Many autoimmune diseases cause inflammation. This inflammation can cause damage and disrupt how your body works. Some other diseases aren’t caused by your immune system, but also result in inflammation, like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Remicade helps to manage and reduce the symptoms of inflammatory diseases. It blocks an important stage of the inflammation process inside your body. This reduces the amount of inflammation the diseases cause, providing relief from their symptoms.

Remicade active ingredients

The active ingredient in Remicade is called infliximab. Infliximab reduces the inflammation caused by some autoimmune diseases and some inflammatory diseases.

Inflammation is a natural process your immune system uses to clear itself of infections. When your immune system detects infections, or when it accidentally attacks normal cells in your body, it releases a substance called TNF. TNF travels to the site of infection where it triggers inflammation.

Infliximab blocks this process. It binds with TNF, stopping it from working, reducing your levels of inflammation. This can ease the symptoms of your disease, limit the damage they can cause, and reduce the severity and frequency of flare-ups.

Remicade side effects & Remicade drug interactions

Remicade can cause side effects. Remember, everyone reacts differently to medications, so you may experience some side effects, or none at all. The most common side effects Remicade can cause are stomach pain, nausea, headaches, upper respiratory infections and viral infections.

In rarer cases, Remicade can cause more serious side effects. These can include allergic reactions, heart problems, liver and kidney conditions, nervous system conditions, severe skin reactions, and certain forms of cancer. Your physician will assess your suitability for Remicade against the risk of side effects.

When medications are taken together, they can interact. This can change how they work and can make some side effects more likely. Medications that are known or thought to interact with Remicade include:

  • Any medications that affect your immune system
  • Kineret (anakinra), used to treat rheumatoid arthritis
  • Orencia (abatacept), used to treat other autoimmune diseases
  • Vaccinations that contain live viruses
