Am I eligible for the Noxafil patient assistance program?

You could receive your Noxafil without paying the full retail price if you meet the eligibility criteria for assistance. This criteria is set by the pharmaceutical companies who are providing assistance programs. At NiceRx we review each application individually, although the main factors considered by most programs are:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
  • I am uninsured or my insurance doesn’t cover my medication
  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for Noxafil patient assistance?

We do everything that we can to take the hassle and stress out of applying for patient assistance programs. Simply start by filling in our enrollment application. We will ask for details about your healthcare provider, your insurance, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical companies you are applying to for assistance. We may also be able to help you access patient assistance for other medications that you have been prescribed, so be sure to tell us about any medications you are taking as well as Noxafil.

NiceRx will review the information you have provided, and if we determine that you may be eligible for assistance, we will seek to enroll you in the Noxafil patient assistance program. We will handle the enrollment process for you by working with your healthcare provider and preparing all the required paperwork for your doctor to sign. We will also request your Noxafil medication refills on your behalf for up to 1 year once you are enrolled in the program.

Is NiceRx a Noxafil coupons provider?

At NiceRx, we help eligible individuals access the Noxafil patient assistance program. This means that we are not a Noxafil coupon, a Noxafil discount card, or a Noxafil copay card provider. We do not offer any medication trial offers, or free Noxafil samples.

What is Noxafil?

Noxafil is available as an injection, delayed-release tablets, or as an oral suspension. Noxafil contains the prescription medicine posaconazole which is classed as an azole antifungal agent. It is used for the treatment of fungal infections in your body. Fungal infections are caused by fungi such as Aspergillus or Candida. Noxafil is used when you have a higher chance of getting these infections because your immune system isn’t as strong as it would normally be. Having a bone marrow transplant or chemotherapy are examples of medical treatments that can weaken your immune system.

Noxafil oral suspension can also be used to treat thrush, a fungal infection of your mouth or throat. It is usually used after you have tried other fungal treatments such as itraconazole or fluconazole and they have not worked.

The Noxafil injection can be used for adults who are over 18 years of age. The delayed-release tablets and oral suspension can be used by adults and children over the age of 13.

Noxafil active ingredients

Posaconazole is an antifungal agent and works by blocking the production of ergosterol in your body. Ergosterol is an important part of the fungus cell walls. It is thought that posaconazole works by blocking an enzyme called cytochrome-P450 from converting lanosterol to ergosterol. The build-up of lanosterol and lack of ergosterol in the cell wall of the fungus causes the structure and function of the cell wall to become weakened.

It is important to note that Noxafil oral liquid and tablets may not be given to you at the same dose or frequency in a day as they are not equivalent. The tablet should be taken with food, it should not be broken, crushed, or chewed. The oral suspension should be taken with food or within 20 minutes of having a meal.

Noxafil injection is given as an infusion into a vein. The injection must be given slowly and can take up to 90 minutes to complete. Missing doses of treatment can increase the chance of the infection becoming worse. It is important to complete your treatment. You may also need regular medical checks while you are taking Noxafil.
