How it works

  • Enroll online

Get started by filling out the online enrollment application to find out if you are eligible for assistance.

  • Pre-qualification

NiceRx verifies your eligibility for medication assistance and notifies you if you are pre-qualified. The pharmaceutical company provides your medication for free, and you only pay our service fee.

  • Submit documents

We will request documents to be submitted by you and your healthcare provider that are required by the pharmaceutical company to complete your enrollment.

  • Receive medication

Once approved, the pharmaceutical company typically ships a 90-day supply of medication to your home or healthcare provider’s address. Final acceptance is determined by the pharmaceutical company.

Am I eligible for Nicotrol patient assistance?

We review each Nicotrol enrollment application individually to determine if you are eligible. Each assistance program has its own eligibility criteria and the factors considered by most programs are:

  • I am a permanent, legal resident of the United States or Puerto Rico
  • I am uninsured or my insurance doesn’t cover my medication
  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for the Nicotrol patient assistance program?

Our process makes it as easy as possible to apply for the Nicotrol patient assistance program. Begin by completing the enrollment application form on our website. Tell us about any medications that you are taking, including Nicotrol. You must also provide details about your healthcare provider, your insurance plan, and your household income. This is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers who will supply the medication, so it is important to make sure this information is accurate and up to date.

We will review the information that you have provided to determine whether you are eligible for patient assistance. If we can pre-qualify you for assistance, NiceRx will handle the full enrollment process on your behalf. If you are approved by the pharmaceutical company, you will typically start receiving your medication in 6 – 8 weeks.

We do not offer Nicotrol manufacturer coupons, Nicotrol discounts, rebates, Nicotrol savings cards, trial offers, or free Nicotrol samples. How much does Nicotrol cost without insurance?

Nicotrol prices without insurance will vary depending on how much you buy. Prices will also vary by retailer. As a guide, a Nicotrol inhaler inhalation device 10 mg will cost around $490 for a 168 device.

What is Nicotrol?

Nicotrol contains the prescription medicine nicotine, which is also the main ingredient in tobacco. Nicotine nasal spray and inhalers are used to help you stop smoking and to help reduce nicotine withdrawal symptoms as you quit smoking. Nicotine nasal sprays and inhalers should be used as a part of a treatment plan alongside counseling, group support and changes to your behavior. Engaging in all areas of the support program will give you a greater chance of success in quitting. Prolonged use of Nicotrol for longer than 6 months is not recommended, as nicotine long-term use has not been thoroughly tested. It is also important to be aware that quitting smoking can cause nicotine withdrawal symptoms, such as feeling dizzy or drowsy, problems concentrating, changes in your mood, headaches, muscle pain, difficulty sleeping, an increased appetite, or weight gain.

Nicotrol active ingredients

Nicotine binds to specific points in your body as well as your brain, known as nicotinic-cholinergic receptors. Nicotine has two main effects on your central nervous system. These are a stimulating effect and a reward effect. Low doses create the stimulant effects while high doses create more of the reward effect.

Nicotine nasal is normally used for up to 8 weeks, and then reduced over the next 4 to 6 weeks. Nicotine inhalation is used for up to 12 weeks, and then reduced over the next 12 weeks. You should follow your doctor’s instructions for reducing your dose. Consult your doctor if you cannot stop smoking after using nicotine nasal for 4 weeks, or after using nicotine inhalation for 6 weeks. Do not use this medicine for longer than 6 months without advice from your doctor.
