This criteria is set by the pharmaceutical companies who are providing assistance programs. At NiceRx we review each application individually, although the main factors considered by most programs are:

  • I meet certain income eligibility requirements

How do I apply for Briviact patient assistance?

We do everything that we can to take the hassle and stress out of applying for patient assistance programs. Simply start by filling in our enrollment application. We will ask for details about your healthcare provider, your insurance, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical companies you are applying to for assistance. We may also be able to help you access patient assistance for other medications that you have been prescribed, so be sure to tell us about any medications you are taking as well as Briviact.

NiceRx will review the information you have provided, and if we determine that you may be eligible for assistance, we will seek to enroll you in the Briviact patient assistance program. We will handle the enrollment process for you by working with your healthcare provider and preparing all the required paperwork for your doctor to sign. We will also request your Briviact medication refills on your behalf for up to 1 year once you are enrolled in the program.

What is Briviact?

Briviact contains the prescription medicine brivaracetam. Brivaracetam is an anti-epileptic drug used for the treatment of partial-onset seizures for adults and children, 4 years of age or older. Briviact injection is only recommended for the treatment of patients 16 years or older. It may be used alone or in combination with other medications.

Partial-onset seizures are caused when abnormal electrical activity starts in one part of the brain only. Symptoms of partial-onset seizures are typically muscle tightening, unusual head movements, eyes moving side to side or blank stares, tingling, numbness, hallucinations, and the sensation of ants crawling over your skin.

Briviact active ingredients

Briviact is classed as a SV2A ligand. SV2A is a protein found in synaptic vesicles. Synaptic vesicles are needed for nerve impulses to be passed between neurons. Ligands are defined as signaling molecules as sometimes when they combine with other molecules a signal is created. It has been seen that brivaracetam is highly attracted to the synaptic vesicle protein 2A(SV2A), this is thought to contribute to the anticonvulsant effect it has. However, the exact way in which Briviact works is not fully understood.
