How do I apply for the Aimovig patient assistance program?
Prescription Care makes it as easy as possible to apply for the Aimovig patient assistance program. Just fill in our online enrollment application to start the process. You will need to tell us about any medications you’re taking, including Aimovig.
We’ll also ask for details about your healthcare provider, your insurance plan, and your household income. This information is required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers who’ll supply your medication, so it must be accurate and up-to-date.
Once Prescription Care determines you may be eligible for Aimovig assistance, we’ll handle the full enrollment process for you. If you are successfully enrolled in the program, we’ll also request your Aimovig medication refills on your behalf for up to one year.
Is Prescription Care an Aimovig coupons provider?
Prescription Care is not an Aimovig coupon, an Aimovig discount card, or an Aimovig copay card provider. We don’t offer printable Aimovig manufacturer coupons, Aimovig discounts, rebates, Aimovig savings cards, trial offers, or free Aimovig samples. Prescription Care is a service provider that helps eligible individuals access the Aimovig patient assistance program.

What is Aimovig?
Aimovig is a prescription medicine given to adults to prevent migraines. Migraines are a type of head pain disorder that causes moderate to severe headaches that usually recur over time. People experience migraines differently, but they can cause sharp and pulsating pain, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, and raised sensitivity to light, noise, and smells. Migraines can last from a few hours to multiple days. After a migraine passes, you may feel exhausted, drained, and have gastrointestinal problems.
If you suffer from migraines, your doctor may prescribe Aimovig to you. The medication helps limit the number of migraines you have. You take it by injecting it under your skin (subcutaneous injection) using a pre-filled SureClick autoinjector self-injecting pen or a syringe. You typically give yourself one injection every 4 weeks but make sure you always take your Aimovig as your doctor directed.
Aimovig active ingredients
The active ingredient in Aimovig is called erenumab-aooe, usually shortened to just erenumab. Erenumab works by blocking the action of a molecule called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). CGRP attaches to receptors on certain cells in your brain, which is thought to be involved in triggering a migraine. Erenumab attaches to these receptors instead of CGRP, stopping it from stimulating the receptors.
Aimovig side effects & Aimovig drug interactions
The most common side effects caused by Aimovig include reactions at the site of injection, such as swelling, redness, and pain, as well as constipation.
In rare instances, Aimovig can cause more serious side effects, including:
- Severe allergic reactions to the medication that can cause swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat, and problems breathing
- Severe constipation that can cause serious complications requiring hospital treatment or surgery
- High blood pressure or worsening existing high blood pressure
Aimovig can interact with other medications. This can change how Aimovig and the other medications work and can make some side effects more likely. Tell your prescribing physician about all drugs you’re taking, including vitamins, and herbal and dietary supplements, particularly any other treatments you take for your migraines.
